We had seen a huge success on the first International Yoga Day celebrations last year held in Rajpath and this year too Indian Government is in the run up for the 2nd International Yoga Day. National Health Editors Conference on the theme - Yoga for Holistic Health Recent Researches was inaugurated today by Shri Shripad Yesso Naik, Minister of State for AYUSH (Independent Charge), at National Media Centre in New Delhi today. The aim of the Conference was to ensure wider dissemination of benefits of Yoga to the public through the media. A video was made live from the Press Information Bureau, Government of India. The Government of India has decided to carry forward the momentum of last year with more active participation in the International Yoga Day to be held on the 21st of June, 2016. The main programme this year would be the mass yoga demonstration from 7.am to 8 am at Chandigarh, attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The event will be a people s programme where they can voluntarily come and participate in the mass yoga. The state government has also encouraged the use of locally made yoga mats with the locally available material. There will also be a special yoga session for the differently abled people. There will also be a workshop and cultural programme for the school and college students and the youth. The Aayush Ministry will also be organising a two-day international conference on yoga on 22nd and 23rd June in New Delhi in which eminent yoga experts from across the globe will be participating.
