After Blue whale challenge, a viral 48-hour challenge on Facebook makes kids go missing for two days

Just as we are dealing with the deadly blue whale challenge--a challenge to which kids get hooked on to and at the end commit suicide-- we now have another sick challenge circulating on Facebook. This challenge might even infuriate you as it is silly and dangerous. According to this challenge, teenagers and kids go missing for two days. They vanish on purpose mostly in small groups, without letting anyone know of their presence for 48-hours straight. And why you ask? They do this achieve scores based on how many mentions they get over social media. Yes! Since once they go missing their parents will resort to Facebook for help and hence the post will circulate to create awareness, that way they'll get a number of mentions everywhere and that is how they score themselves.

According to media reports, a terrified mother from country Derry had her 14-year-old with her other friends participated in this challenge and were later taken into police custody.

There are a few facebook posts trying to spread awareness at the same time.

Social media has actually helped many people find their lost ones in the past and it is enraging to see these kids misusing the platform for fun. Imagine the danger that the kids are exposed to, let alone the terror that parents have to go through while they play such games. People are going crazy over these fancy sounding challenges that come up every day and it is being taken to a whole new dangerous level. Please be aware and explain to your child these impulsive decisions they take on the basis of things that trend on social media. Also, please scrutinize your child's social media activities here are a few tips that will help you.
