Bollywood actress Rani Mukerji Sunday launched the 'Make Way for Ambulance campaign' in Mumbai aimed to create long-term awareness and put in efforts to ensure smooth ambulance services for patients who need them at critical times. The campaign is a Mumbai traffic police initiative and the actress accompanied police commissioner of Mumbai Rakesh Maria at the launch.
Under the initiative, ambulance drivers would be informed to alert traffic police while driving a critical patient to the hospital with the help of emergency numbers provided to them. The traffic police, then, would work around the location of the critical patient to create a green corridor for the ambulance.
The Mardani actress Rani hopes that the campaign helps creating awareness all over the country. 'This initiative will make a huge difference in saving many lives,' she said to a news portal.
