72-Year-Old Incarcerated Producer Harvey Weinstein Hospitalised After Cancer Diagnosis
Harvey Weinstein, former Hollywood producer and rape convict admitted to hospital after he was diagnosed with bone marrow cancer in October. Harvey accuses New York City of medical negligence.
Former Hollywood producer and convicted felon, Harvey Weinstein was recently diagnosed with bone marrow cancer, a chronic myeloid leukemia which is a form of bone marrow cancer. According to sources, he was undergoing treatment at Riker's Island in New York. As per recent development, Weinstein had been admitted back to the hospital as he battles the chronic disease. The 72-year-old disgraced Hollywood has apparently accused New York City officials of "medical negligence," and plans to take legal action against them. As per his statement to the media, he claims to have denied adequate care while he was in custody.
Harvey Weinstein's Medical History Before Cancer Diagnosis
Before Harvey Weinstein was diagnosed with bone marrow cancer, he had suffered from a series of health issues. Weinstein was convicted on charges of third-degree rape and first-degree criminal sexual act on the year 2020. Because of this he was sentenced to 23 years in prison. Later 2023, his sentenced was increase to 16 years after he was found guilty of rape in 2013. During the term of his sentence, Harvey Weinstein was transferred from A New York City jail to a hospital for health treatments. He was, at the time suffering from severe COVID-19 and pneumonia complications. Aside from these two health problems, Harvey Weinstein also need medical attention for high blood pressure, diabetes, spinal stenosis and fluid buildup around his heart and lungs.
In the month of September, he was again hospitalised for a heart surgery. At the time of his conviction, his team had expressed concerns regarding his health and whether or not he would be able to complete his sentence.
