Gluten is a protein found in wheat, rye, barley and certain other grains. Gluten intolerance is the body's inability to digest or break down this protein. It can cause problems with your digestive system. But most people (about 90 percent) are gluten tolerant. If you’re not suffering from celiac disease or gluten sensitivity, you can have foods with gluten, such as whole grains.
