  1. Operating from Love, Not Ego: This is the foundation of successful relationships- operating from a love space rather than ego. Love encourages selflessness, forgiveness, understanding, and support, fostering personal and relational growth. When we operate from a space of love, we love while the 'ego' is concerned only about 'I, me, myself'. The nature of ego is such that it needs to feel safe, secure and strong all the time - this makes us self-centric, and we then only bother about 'my desires', 'my need', 'my comfort' etc. It is a cruel truth that we mainly operate from a space of ego because we are clueless about love. Hence, the first lesson is to keep our ego aside and consciously choose to operate from a space of love for relationships to blossom.
  2. Managing Expectations: We feel it's natural to have expectations from the other person in relationships. However, relying on others to fulfil our needs creates an unhealthy dependency. We become calculative 'Who did more!', and instead of being loving and liberating, the relationship becomes suffocating. Shift the focus from expectation and cultivate self-love. This will prevent relationships from becoming burdens and transform them from transactional to liberating connections.
  3. Embracing Imperfection: Life is inherently imperfect, and relationships are no exception. Let go of rigid expectations, whether about a spotless home or gourmet meals and appreciate the beauty in life's imperfections. Everything & every person is imperfect, and so is every relationship.

Summary

Relationships are sacred and require mutual nurturing. It's crucial to recognize that one can only change oneself, not the partner. Therefore, each individual has the responsibility to foster a thriving relationship. It's a continuous journey, and the key lies in individuals' choices regarding how much they are willing to invest in nurturing their relationships.
