Low Density Lipoprotein (LDL) are often called bad cholesterols because they deposit cholesterol in the blood while transporting it from the liver. When the LDL levels are high, it starts forming clots (plaques) in the blood vessels causing hypertension (high BP), angina (chest pain), heart attacks, strokes and peripheral vascular diseases. One can keep their LDL levels low by eating right, exercising and avoiding alcohol and smoking.
