Weight Loss Tip #92 –Don’t eat foods with trans fats

If you want to lose weight effectively and also avoid other health problems such as heart disease, diabetes, cancer, depression, infertility and so on, it is important that you completely stop eating anything that has trans fats in it. Mostly it is found in packed foods such as chips, cake mixes, cookies, etc. As a caution, avoid packed foods without any food labels as they may contain trans fats.

These fats are man-made to make sure packaged food lasts longer by the process of hydrogenation of liquid oils. Nutritionist Pooja Makhija explains in her book Eat Delete that when you eat foods with trans fats, your body forms trans fatty acids that are extremely hazardous for health. Regular consumption of such foods can lead to obesity as they have no nutrition value and can wreck your weight loss plans. Even if you aren t planning to lose weight, you should avoid them at any cost.

Simply read the label of the foods before you buy them. Choose ones which clearly state they have no trans fats. They are worse than saturated fats. On the other hand, don t skip all fats from your diet, eating good fats is essential even when on a weight loss diet. Here are good fats you should include in your diet.
