As human beings, we tend to use simple logic for a lot of things. People who are fat might blame their eating habits in the past, and as a result, try to make up for it by starving themselves. However, what they don't realize is that this habit is extremely unhealthy and not useful for sustained weight loss.
Starvation will slow down your metabolism and cause it to store more fat. You may indeed see yourself losing weight, but this is caused due to loss of muscle and not fat. You will regain the lost weight quickly when you start eating normally again.
Therefore, instead of starving you should lose weight by eating low calorie foods like fruits and vegetables. These foods usually contain fibre which keeps you feeling full for a long time. Also, a lot of people think of starvation as a state where one does not eat for more than 14-15 hours. However, your body may go into starvation mode much sooner than that. Not eating breakfast for example will cause your body to go into starvation mode. Thus, it is important to eat small, frequent meals at regular intervals.
