Weight Loss Tip #162 – Don’t beat yourself up for not sticking to your weight loss plan

How often have you ended up feeling guilty and disappointed that you weren't able to go to the gym for the last few days? Or maybe you decided to go on a junk food free diet only to end up binge eating on unhealthy food items a few days later. When you were unable to stick to your weight loss plan, it is easy to feel frustrated with yourself and that's when most people end up making the mistake of beating themselves up for not staying on track.

Making drastic lifestyle changes and pushing yourself out of your comfort zone every single day is not something you might be able to accomplish right away. Instead, accept the fact that trying to lead a healthier lifestyle is challenging and will require a lot of trial and error from your end before you figure out what works best for you. After all, there is no one size fits all approach when it comes to weight loss and what worked for your friend might not yield the same results for you.

Every time you scold yourself for being lazy and unmotivated and call yourself a couch potato, you are only making it more difficult for yourself to bring about some positive changes in your life. Instead of using negative words like 'fat' or 'lazy' to describe yourself the next time you miss gym two days in a row, allow yourself to take short breaks and rejuvenate your mind and body first. Here's why you need to set realistic weight loss goals for yourself. Monitor your thoughts and get rid of that negative voice in your head. Once you stop beating yourself up and develop a positive attitude that you have what it takes to adopt a healthier lifestyle, you will find it much easier to stay motivated and continue with your weight loss plan.
