Hidden under the labels of flavoured water, diet drinks, hidden sugars are disguised under the tag of sugar-free foods.
Always check the warning labels which will contain terms like sorbitol, mannitol, xylitol and lacitol which are artificial sweeteners which in fact cause problems like irritable bowel syndrome and other gastrointestinal problems.
You should also know that all carbonated drinks contain carbon dioxide which is mixed with the drink under pressure which gives it the fizz. Carbon dioxide is the end product of metabolism which the body tries to throw out. So, it's not possible to remain healthy by ingesting it as it turns acidic in the body. For good health, the body needs an alkaline environment. Similarly, the excess caffeine results in seizures, diabetes and mood/behavioral problems whereas excess of colas may lead to type 2 diabetes and other chronic diseases.
