Doing household chores, taking the stairs instead of the elevator and walking while on the phone are just some ways in which you can increase physical activity in your life.
There is a fitness regime called The Commercial Break Workout developed by Rob Sulaver of Bandana Training, which requires you to work out without missing out on your favourite TV show. Doing household chores like washing the dishes also helps burn calories 10 minutes spent washing dishes burns 28 calories for a 70 kg person.
Instead of sitting on your sofa while you are on the phone, try walking around. If you have an interesting conversation that lasts 30 minutes, you'll have burnt 51 calories even if you walk at a slow pace. Another way to increase physical activity will be to take the stairs instead of the elevator. It'll help strengthen your legs and burn calories too. Bollywood mega star Akshay Kumar reportedly climbs the stairs of a 50-storey-building two times in a day.
