Weighing scale

Using the measuring scale can be very tricky since you may just tend to focus on the number. Plus, several factors like your sodium intake, your hydration levels, and even your digestive system can impact your weight. So you might weigh less on the weighing scale even if you have actually lost weight. Here are 4 ways to find out if your weight loss is fat loss or just loss of water weight.

Measuring tape

You are bound to get different results if you do not measure from the exact same spot every time. While measuring tape can a be a great way to see other forms of progress that you might not notice on a weighing scale, it generally does not provide you with a more holistic picture of weight loss such as toning up. However, if you are trying to fit better in your clothes and trying to feel a little more self-confident measuring tape can be a great way to track your progress. But if you want a more accurate measurement of your overall gains and losses to measure four to five areas of your body like your arm, thighs, waist and hips every two weeks. Here are 10 obvious signs you are putting on weight.

That being said, it is also important to monitor other health-related factors like the regularity of your bowel movements, your energy levels and your sleep patterns.
