Wrists are an important part of the body that provide assistance with everyday activities. If your wrist has been giving you trouble lately, know that there are some exercises that you can do to get relief, instead of going to a doctor and popping pills. There may be many reasons why your wrists feel weak, or painful. According to Anshuka Parwani, a celebrity yoga and holistic wellness expert, weak wrists are normally caused by injury, repetitive strain on the muscles or underlying conditions.
The expert took to Instagram to demonstrate a few interesting and simple exercises, stating that practising certain 'targeted exercises' can help strengthen the muscles, improve flexibility and range of motion, promote rehabilitation and regain overall function of the wrists. Take a look.
This is an easy exercise that is great for the wrists. You simply have to rotate your wrists 10 times in the clockwise direction and 10 times in the counterclockwise direction. You can do it any time in the day, while working, cooking, relaxing, before going to bed, etc.
Just spread your palm and slowly bend it backwards, as if to touch your hand with the back of your fingers. Being a flexible joint, the wrist is super-bendy. Now bend it forward as well and repeat on the other hand. Do it 10 times for both the hands.
Wrist Fist To Fan
Make a ball with your wrist and then fan the fingers out to relax the palm. Do it simultaneously for both the hands, 10 times.
On Fours Wrist Circles
Take a yoga mat and get down on your fours as demonstrated in the video. Make sure your knees and arms are in alignment. While keeping your palm firmly fixed on the mat, move your wrist muscles clockwise, and then counter-clockwise.

Now repeat the above exercise by lifting your legs off the mat and stretching your legs backwards. In a plank position, gently bring your body forward to create slight pressure on the wrists, and use the wrists to push the body backwards.
Downward Dog To Cobra Pose
In this exercise, you assume the Downward Dog yoga position and then quickly bring the body on the mat to assume the Cobra Pose. This transition relies solely on the strength of your hands, mainly your wrists. Do it at least 10 times and relax.
