Do you get the constant urge to eat snacks? It could be because you are tired or bored or could be because of inadequate diet, but constant snacking can pack you with a lot of calories. Those in-between meal snacks could also give you liver disease. If you are guilty of mindless munching, here are some tips you should follow.
Have your snacks slowly
Take your time to eat. Have more nuts like pistachios that come in a shell and oranges that take a while to peel. When you eat while you crack your nut or peel your fruit, you give your body more time to feel full, so you end up eating less.
Focus on your food
Don t watch television or listen to music while you are snacking as that way you are likely to end up eating mindlessly. Focus on your food and watch your calories while you snack.
Brush your teeth
Brush your teeth on those nights when you literally can t stop snacking. The taste of mint will prevent you from eating something sweet again. Other tricks like painting your nails and playing a game on your laptop can distract you and stop you from bingeing.
Don t stock unhealthy snacks
It is simple. If you feel that you totally cannot control your temptations, don t stock unhealthy snacks. If you feel too hungry, here are some healthy substitutes for unhealthy snack options.
Eat fibre-rich foods
Eat well-balanced meals and have high fibre snacks that can keep you full for a longer time. Include lean protein in your diet and plan your meal in advance so you are prepared the next time you have a snack attack. These low-calorie snack recipes will help you lose weight in no time.
