Katichakrasana or standing spinal twist is an excellent pose to stretch your waist, along with improving the flexibility of your spine. It is also a great pose to stretch and tone your arms, shoulders and leg muscles. Performing this yoga asana regularly can help beat constipation. This pose strengthens the spine and is especially beneficial for those with sedentary or deskbound jobs.
Steps to perform:
Stand straight on a yoga mat and keep your feet together. Make sure to keep your spine erect.
Take a deep breath in and stretch your friends to the front. Your palms should be facing each other and should be parallel to the ground.
Exhale slowly and gently twist from your waist to the left side and look back over your left shoulder. Ensure that you do not move your legs while twisting. Also, keep the distance between your palms constant. You will feel a deep stretch in your lower back.
Take another deep breath in and come back to the centre.
Now breathe out and turn to your right and repeat the steps.
