Sahaja purvottanasana or upward table pose is an excellent pose for beginners as it doesn t require much strength and flexibility. It tones and strengthens the core and helps get rid of the love handles by working on the oblique muscles. It also provides a deep stretch to the shoulders, chest and spine. Additionally, this pose provides relief from stress and fatigue. It is also a useful pose to counteract slouching which may result from sitting too long in the wrong posture.
