A lot happened over the past six months. I got married, suffered a death in the family, redid our home and had very little quality time with my partner. With so much happening, I lost all hope that things would be the way I wanted them to be after marriage. I really needed a change. Something that could help me divert, lift me up and help me stay positive. I remembered how in my college days Swami Madhusudhan, meditation teacher Art of living, helped me come out of a bad phase so I tried applying these techniques this time too. It might just help you too. Try them out.
Create your comfortable space
Dedicate a corner of your house to holistic living. Fill the area with natural fragrance (essential oils), art, natural light and anything that adds meaning to your well-being, like a yoga mat. Keep the area filled with positive energy and try not to make it messy. Keep the area clean. After a long tiring day at work or whenever you are down, this is one place you can come back to feel healthy, alive, vibrant and abundant. I dedicated a corner of my room to candles, lamps, and books. Have a look at my happy space.
Do what you enjoy
Instead of dedicating all your entire day to work, involve yourself in activities that you enjoy even if it is just for half an hour. It could be any activity like painting, music and even attending a zumba class. Lead your life as if you are in charge and don t let your negative thoughts eat up your time. Try it for a day and you will feel content like never before. One hour of painting workshop helped me forget all my worries, even if briefly.

Whenever you want to put things in perspective, try performing the vayu mudra. It is an easy hand gesture that is excellent to calm an overcharged nervous system and an anxious mind, helping you feel relaxed immediately. You can perform the mudra any time of the day.
