Side Lunge Pose, or Half Squat Pose (as well as Kandasana), is a deep stretch yoga animal pose that works many of the muscle groups simultaneously. The asana requires balancing the body on one leg, being in a squat with the other leg extended towards the side of the body. It is a dynamic pose which involves strength, flexibility and balance.
Earlier, another Monday motivation, Shilpa took to her Instagram handle and shared a video in which she can be seen performing a mobility move called the Malasana pose and listed its health benefits.

Skandasana (Side Lunge Pose) offers a wide range of physical, mental, and energetic benefits, making it a powerful addition to both dynamic yoga flows and mobility-focused practices.
Skandasana (from Sanskrit: Skanda = name of a warrior god, and Asana = pose) is a hip-opening, strength-building pose that involves lunging deeply to one side while keeping the opposite leg extended. It is often practiced in dynamic yoga flows and is a popular preparatory pose for advanced hip openers.
