Serena Williams' Weight Loss Journey: The tennis champion has always been vocal about women's health and upfront with her fans about her personal fitness journey. Williams experienced a major shift in her career when her first daughter was born - Olympia - in 2017. During her motherhood, she transitioned, and her body was also impacted in many ways.
In a recent interview on August 21, Serena Williams revealed that she had shed 31 lbs since using a weight loss medication to help her with her health journey, which also spiked her energy levels.
And she was feeling quite good about it, as she had struggled a lot with her postpartum body.

In an interview, she said, "I never was able to get to the weight I needed to be, no matter what I did, no matter how much I trained," she said. "It was crazy because I'd never been in a place like that in my life where I worked so hard, ate so healthy, and could never get down to where I needed to be at."
And when she looks back to her progress, that it is not about self-worth. Further saying, "Weight loss should never really change your self-image," she said. "Women often experience judgment about their bodies at any size, and I'm no stranger to that. So I feel like you should love yourself at any size and any look."
Serena Williams' Post-Baby Body Struggles and Acceptance
After giving birth to a baby, she was concerned about her appearance and how it changed over time, where she made an acceptance with her post-baby body.

She further said, "I would just say that your body is imperfectly perfect after having a baby. Some people return to what they looked like, or even better, but it takes a little bit longer. And some people end up having stretch marks or scars, like me."
She also gave out a message on embracing the imperfectly perfect body.
Serena Williams revealed in an interview that it was just following a real healthy lifestyle, as her secret to losing baby weight was just working out and having a real healthy lifestyle. She is still working on her weight loss and working towards it.
In August 2023, she also welcomed her second child, and five months later, the star shared a video of her doing barbell squats in January 2024.
Skin tightening procedure: She also underwent a skin tightening procedure and shared that she could see major changes in her skin, like it getting back to normal, and her confidence has come back.
According to reports, she also relied on some sort of GLP-1 medication to shed weight.
