Water diet is a very common diet often followed by actors in order to enact a specific role. It is also followed by influencers on social media. The water diet may be trending among celebrities and social media influencers but it does not necessarily have positive outcomes. Many A-list celebrities have followed this diet prior to shooting for a role or a scene. For instance, Hugh Jackman admitted to following this diet for the movie Deadpool & Wolverine, Aamir Khan followed it for Ghajini and Dangal, Joaquin Phoenix followed it to appear thin in the movie Joker and lastly actor Rohit Roy too followed this diet for his 2007 role in Shootout at Lokhandwala. This diet has drastic effects on the body. It can induce massive weight loss is very few days and it also helps define abs and muscles in the body, making actors look more ripped. However, there are more cons to this diet than pros. Rohit Roy shared in a recent interaction on YouTube, "I went on a really stupid diet, and I will never do that again. I had to look emaciated. I lost 16 kgs in 25-26 days. I was on a water diet. It was really intense." Rohit Roy lost 16 kgs in 25 days but he admitted to it being 'extreme' and 'unhealthy.' He also said, "I've heard stories of actors in Hollywood following similar diets, and some have actually died in the process."
