Last week I was craving salads. So I mentioned about how I desperately picked up the Trikaya salad box and loved the ready-to-eat salad. The next day, I wanted more salad. So I just sourced some rocket salad leaves, some lettuce, baby spinach and decided to make my own salad. I love experimenting with dressing. Usually, I prefer avoiding any kind of oil because I hate the taste of raw oil even if it is olive oil. Do you know which olive oil is used for skin and which one and cooking?

Thankfully, I had picked up a salad dressing that had no oil a few months back and not tried it yet. What better time. So I cracked the seal open of this beautiful Remia Italian salad dressing for my simple homemade salad. And here s my review for it:

Packaging

The Remia salad dressing comes in a neat glass bottle, very sleek and easy to handle. You can see the paprika and herbs floating in the dressing which is a pretty sight. The Remia Italian salad dressing contains water, vinegar, glucose-fructose syrup, onion, paprika, sugar, salt, herbs, lemon juice and some preservatives and flavourings. It is gluten-free and hence perfect for those with gluten intolerance. Here are symptoms of gluten intolerance and different types of gluten intolerance.

The taste

The lemon, vinegar impart the perfect acidity that is a must in a salad dressing while the sugar balances it perfectly. The spicy paprika gives it the punch and goes perfectly with any type of salad. I just loved it. I used a big spoonful of the salad for one big bowl of salad. You can mix and match ingredients for the salad as per your choice and availability or try these salad recipes. I used tomatoes, cucumber, capsicum, rocket leaves, iceberg lettuce, baby spinach and some boiled eggs in my salad and along with the Remia dressing it tasted just divine. You can also try the tabbouleh salad, Italian garbanzo salad or spinach and sprouts salad without this dressing.

The verdict

Since it s a no oil dressing, it ll definitely help you in your weight loss goals. However, you must use it in moderation as it does contain preservatives and some sugars. The product is priced at Rs175 for a 250ml bottle which will make at least 10-12 bowls of salad. Hence the product is very economical and delicious enough to be tried once. Here are some salad dressing recipes you can try for weight loss.

Will I buy it again? Maybe yes but I will also continue inventing my own salad dressing combinations.
