Hastapadotasana or standing forward bend is a very effective asana to strengthen and stretch the muscles of almost every part of your body. With stretching involved in this pose, it benefits you by helping you lose weight and shaping your body. The pose also works very well for stimulating your nervous system. Regular practice of this asana can also regulate your bowel movement and resolve constipation.Hastapadotasana increases blood flow to your face and hence, the pose for glowing skin. Here are some more yoga asanas that can give you a glowing skin.

Steps to do the asana

  • Stand straight in such a way that both your legs touch each other.
  • Inhale slowly, and take both your arms overhead.
  • Exhale and bend your body by your waist so that your head faces your feet.
  • Try placing both your hands on the ground by the side of your legs or on the legs.
  • Hold this position for some time and make sure you do not bend your knees. Try to maintain this position as long as you are comfortable.
  • As you exhale, slowly bring your body up in the standing position.
  • Inhale and get both your hands down.

Contraindications:

Avoid this pose if you are suffering from hypertension, spinal problems, ulcers, hernia, vertigo, cardiac problems or hernia.
