One-legged pigeon pose or Eka Pada Rajakapotasan — a yoga pose to help you become flexible

Here is a yoga pose that can help keep injuries at bay. Not only does it make you more flexible but also tones your buttocks.

Pigeon poseThe one-legged pigeon pose or Eka Pada Rajakapotasan, is perfect if you want to become more flexible and prevent injuries. What makes this asana perfect is the fact that it helps stretch the thighs, groins, abdomen, chest, shoulders and neck. It also stimulates the abdominal organs and opens up your shoulders and chest. What is best thing about the pigeon pose is that apart from all the benefits it has this asana also helps tone your buttock and makes you more supple. Steps to do this asana: Also Read - Try the wide legged headstand to tone and strengthen your entire body

  • Start this pose by getting into the downward dog position.
  • Now bring your right leg forward and place your shin on the floor such that your knee is facing your right hand and the flat of your foot is facing your left leg.
  • Stretch your left foot backwards as you extend your hands forward.
  • Stretch your hands out in front of you and lengthen your belly.
  • Hold this position for ten breaths and then switch sides.
