Planning to move to a new city? Shifting to a new city is a stressful and nerve-racking task because apart from shifting all the material things, you also have to shift your heart, mind and soul. Also, shifting to a new place can take a toll on your health, so here are a few tips to stay healthy when moving to a new city.

  1. If you have a medical history, do not forget to keep all the reports of your blood tests and the scanning reports. You need to carry all your medical records because you may need them to arrange the medications as many medical stores demand a doctor s prescription. You can also read your medical report yourself.
  2. If you are on medications, it is advisable to keep a stock of at least 5-7 doses. This will last you until you figure out a local pharmacy.
  3. Once you have moved to the new place, go around to get a feel of the place, especially the nearest local pharmacy. Since you just travelled to the new place, you may require medicines for motion sickness or general fever, that you can suffer from due to exertion, and the sooner you find a local pharmacy, the better. These tips might help you to beat motion sickness.
  4. After you have found a local pharmacy, you should also find out a good family physician you can consult. A physician will come in handy for treating general illnesses and can also guide you about specialists and hospitals, in case you need one. Find out whether you should go to a general physician or specialist when you fall sick.
  5. Also, when you move to new place, try to stay healthy. Do not take chances with water and food. Drink only filtered water and maintain good hygiene. Try to avoid eating out, especially street food. If you have to eat out, make sure the place you eat at is clean. Plan your diet wisely.
