Leading global holistic health guru Mickey Mehta has over 25 years of experience in the fitness industry and is a philosopher, life coach, author and a brand in himself. Several celebs swear by his teachings to not just be fit but healthy too. The man reveals his life mantra to us.

The secret to being physically and mentally active and fit is to make exercise a habit. Making exercise a pleasure rather than a chore is the key to staying motivated. Exercise can prevent spine problems, knee problems, conditions like osteoporosis, heart diseases, diabetes, etc.

Opt for sensible exercise strategies that will help you in building endurance, strength and immunity. Many people choose to ignore the overall well-being of the mind and body. And any obsession with six-pack abs, mass building for the heck of it and size zero leads to disappointment, aggression and paranoia. I have seen some fit people destroy themselves in pursuing such goals. Read - The right way to exercise by Mickey.

Wellness/fitness for me is about feeling good and not just about bodybuilding or mere weight loss. It is about how efficient you are in function. So any kind of paranoia must be curbed and focus must be on adopting a healthy lifestyle. I believe health is the pinnacle of wellness and I promote the culture of physical refinement and mental and spiritual empowerment through combined ideologies and essence of Vedas, Zen, yoga to transform lives for the better. I am not against weight training but I am more for stretch, flow, cardio, strength and flexibility exercises for building endurance, agility, flexibility and tenacity training.

Optimise your life and well-being with the right exercises and diet, adequate rest, relaxation and a few minutes of pranayam daily. Also read - Yoga guru Smt Hansaji's fitness mantra.
