Kit Harrington s diet - 'I ve never had to eat this much before. It s quite tough.'
Harrington believes that getting fit is 70% diet and 30% working out. And, even though some people may think eating is easy, the truth is that it s just as tough as exercising. It s huge amounts of steak or chicken. I have about six protein shakes a day. On top of that, I have to eat about half a kilogram of meat for every meal and the equivalent in carbohydrates. I ve never had to eat this much before. It s quite tough. , Harrington told Vanity Fair.
Before shooting the movie, the actor was on a 4,000 calorie diet to bulk up which made him gain about 25 pounds. After this, he switched to a 2,000 calorie diet and trained for long hours to look as ripped as he does in the posters of the movie.
Looking at the body that Harrington is sporting in the trailers, it seems as if these efforts bore fruit. But there were days when the actor didn t feel so good. In an interview with Kansascity.com, he said, There was a day when I was so exhausted, three-quarters of the way through the movie, I couldn t get up. I was lying on my back, and they were calling me to set, and I got up, and my legs buckled underneath me. Then I got up, and my legs buckled again.
