While it is a fact that your immune system gets a boost from regular physical activity, exercise is not going to help you combat fever and can, in fact, can just make things worse, says Sagar Pednekar, fitness expert Gold s Gym, India. Since your body is already recuperating, it is better that you take a break and get some rest. Also, find out why exercises make you feel light-headed and nauseous.

If you have fever along with symptoms like muscle, joint pain and headache, no activity is going to help you find relief. When you are ill, your body is in a tremendous need to rest and recover. Your immune system is weak, and your body is under stress, so you need to keep a close watch on the symptoms as they may worsen. Drink plenty of fluids and ensure that you get some extra sleep. Also, ensure that you show a doctor to reduce the severity of the symptoms.

According to Sagar, once you recover and get back to your regular exercise routine, you should not perform high-intensity exercises the first five or six days. Do moderate-intensity exercises and don t tire yourself too much as you may stress your muscles and also fall short of breath.
