Hollywood celebrity trainer Ramona Braganza, who is known for her unique training methodology the 3-2-1 training method tells us how to use 3-2-1 technique to get that mental edge to get fit:
I have built my identity and success by shaping Hollywood's fittest bodies, including those of Jessica Alba, Halle Berry, Anne Hathaway, Scarlett Johansson, Kate Beckinsale, Eva Mendez and many more using my unique training methodology the 3-2-1 Training Method. Having worked with many of my clients on location, it occurred to me that my 'Get ready - Get set - Go' approach to fitness was like the silent 3-2-1 hand signals used on movie sets for the countdown to 'Action!' So, the name stuck.
But I've always believed that the programme isn't solely designed for the physical body it's also a philosophy. You see, the 3-2-1 countdown became the basis of my philosophy for everything in life. Not only did it define the structure of the exercise and food plan, but it applied to the mental and emotional components of any life transformation. It is a call to action NOW! Think of this countdown as three steps before you blast off to a fit new you!
3 or get ready mentally
The first step starts with a decision in our minds; a commitment to take action. If your goal is to improve your health and your physique, the first step is pinpointing a reason for change, what I like to call a meaningful motivation. Once we've done that we need to plan exactly how we are going to change. These two actions will have you moving in the right direction.
2 or get set physically
Now comes the work, things like the exercise and diet plan. Remember while there will be times you may lack motivation you can beat that with visual imagery, written or vocal affirmations to stay inspired. This could include writing down your goals somewhere or mentally picturing yourself 10 kg lighter or finishing a marathon.
1 or go forward emotionally
This is the final step of the countdown that allows you to be human in your struggles to be fit. It's not easy and at times you may need help. It is in this phase that you must look deep inside to getting past obstacles, sticking to your plan and then celebrating (healthily) when you achieve your goals!
Get ready mentally! Get set physically! Go forward emotionally! Right here, right now, you can lay down the foundation to a better future. You can do it with focus, determination and the 3-2-1 Plan!
