Most Indians have roti or chapati as a part of their staple diet. While some may eat it only once during the day, there are others who eat it for both their big meals lunch and dinner. With people watching their weight and becoming more and more health conscious, it is important to know the calorie count of your roti. Calculate how much weight you can lose in a month here.

Though most people eat wheat chapatis, there are other kinds of rotis as well. Let’s calculate calories in rotis (different types).

  • 1 wheat chapatti 57 calories
  • 1 bajra roti 97 calories
  • 1 nachni roti 88 calories
  • 1 makke ki roti 153 calories
  • 1 bhakri 66 calories
  • 1 thalipeeth 100 calories
  • 1 missi roti 149 calories
  • 1 tandoori roti 116 calories
  • 1 phulka 57 calories
  • 1 roomali roti 78 calories
  • 1 jowar roti 30 calories

While these are the number of calories in these different types of rotis, one should not just go with the calorie intake when selecting one. Other factors like nutrition also play important role. Wheat chapati has low calories as compared to others, but a nachni roti will be more nutritious even if it is high in calories. The best way to go about it is to alternate between the different types to reap in their benefits. On an average, people eat two to three rotis in one go, so it is essential that they note the calories you are adding and if you are on a weight loss mission, restrict very high-calorie foods or eat them sparingly. You can also reduce the number of chapatis and add more veggies if required.
