Potatoes are packed with starch, which is a concentrated form of energy and are rich in carbohydrates. Besides, they also contain fibre, vitamins and minerals which make them a healthy addition to your diet. However, the fact is that potatoes are high in starch and carbohydrates but contain moderate amount of calories. French fries and baked potatoes generally have high starch content.
