body shapeWondering why you have broader hips while your sister has a flatter torso? It is because of the structure of your bones which determines your body shape. Women’s bodies fall into four categories – apple, pear, hourglass and tubular, according to a celebrity personal trainer Matt Roberts. Hourglass: This shape is popularly touted as the perfect figure for women. It is characterised by shapely chest and bottom and a slim waist. Myleene Klass, Kate Winslet and Nigella Lawson, all embody hour glass figure. Tubular: Women with a tubular body shape tend to have a small chest and bottom and a little definition at the waistline. Celebs with such bodies include Cara Delevingne and Keira Knightley.

Pear: Pear-shaped bodies are easy to detect. Think of Beyonce and Rihanna with normal upper bodies but with most weight on their bottoms and thighs enhancing that area the most.

Apple: Women who have a small bottom but more fat around the torso and arms fall in this category. Celebs like Catherine Zeta Jones, Melanie Griffith and Drew Barrymore have apple-shaped figures. (Read: Want a sexy, slim figure without exercise or surgery? Try shapewear)
