Healthy Snacks Recipe – Multigrain egg roll

What comes to your mind when you hear the word 'multigrain'? Bread, breakfast cereal? Well, here's an amazing multigrain recipe that makes for a wonderful snack! This multigrain egg roll is a powerhouse of protein, good carbohydrate and lots of nutrients. What's more, it calls for few ingredients and is quick to whip up. A perfect recipe when you feel hungry suddenly and need something hot and filling. Serve it with green chutney or tamarind chutney and thank us for the recipe later. Love eating egg? Serves: 2

Ingredients:

For the outer wrap-

  • Wheat flour- 1/4 cup
  • Oat flour- 1/4 cup

For the filling-

  • Eggs-2
  • Capsicum (sliced)- 1/2 medium
  • Pepper powder- 1/2 teaspoon
  • Green chili (chopped)- 1
  • Salt- to taste
  • Oil- 2 tablespoon

Method of preparation-

  • Combine both the flours in a bowl and form a non-sticky dough.
  • Divide it into 4 equal parts and make 4 thin roti For the filling- beat the eggs, add capsicum, chili, salt and pepper and mix well.
  • Heat oil in a pan and pour the egg mixture. Scramble the egg (make sure your mixture doesn't become too dry).
  • Fill this mixture in multigrain wrap and serve.

Health-o-meter: Combining 2-3 flours is better than 1 single flour. Egg is an all time amazing source of protein and it contains a variety of other vitamins and minerals. Dietary fiber from oats and wheat flour provides satiety and eggs provide proteins which are the building blocks of the body.
