Healthy Shravan Recipe – Sabudana spring roll by Chef Ranveer Brar

If you are fasting this Shravan, you need to eat something filling and nutritious as you are eating lesser than usual. Most people prefer eating sago or sabudana in a khichdi form but here is an innovative and healthy twist to it. Make yummy spring rolls with a desi flavour. Here is the recipe.   • Soaked sago or sabudana - 1 cup
  • Lemon juice - 2 tbsp
  • Ginger - 1 tsp
  • Chopped green chillies - 2
  • Boiled, sweet potato - 1
  • Few chopped coriander leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • Crushed peanuts - cup

For spring roll sheet

  • Potato flour: 2 cups
  • Water as required

For chutney

  • Flaxseeds - 1 tsp
  • Sunflower seeds - 1 tsp
  • Curd - 1 cup
  • Salt to taste
  • Green chilli - 1


  • In a bowl, add soaked sago, lemon juice, ginger, chopped green chillies, boiled sweet potato, coriander leaves, salt, peanuts and mix well.
  • To make spring roll sheet add potato flour and water and make a tight dough.
  • Make small lime-size balls and flatten them using rolling pin.
  • Place the sago mixture on rolled potato flour sheet and wrap the sheet.
  • Now keep the roll into steamer to steam for 7 -10 minutes.
  • For chutney, in a blender, add flaxseeds, sunflower seeds, curd, salt, green chilli and grind it.
  • Serve the dish with chutney.
  • Your sabudana spring roll is ready.
