Yam or ratalu is a nutritious vegetable which is also low in fat. If you are fasting this Shravan, try this innovative recipe. Easy to make, it will keep you full without bloating your stomach. Ingredients: Also Read - Tips to fast safely during this coronavirus pandemic

  • Half boiled yam 500g
  • Lemon juice
  • Oil- 1 tsp
  • Slit fresh red chillies – 2
  • Curry leaves 6-7
  • Rock salt to taste
  • Cumin powder 1 tsp
  • Chopped fresh coriander – 1 tsp

Method:

  • Cut the half boiled yam into long fingers.
  • To make the marinade, in a bowl add the chopped yam, rock salt and lemon juice and mix.
  • To make the masala, in a hot non-stick pan add oil, splutter cumin seeds, slit fresh red chillies, curry leaves and pan seared yam, rock salt, cumin powder, chopped fresh coriander and toss until crisp.
  • Serve immediately. Also try this sabudana spring roll recipe.
