Healthy recipe -- tofu and beetroot kebab

In winters, we prefer to spend time with a cup of hot chai and snacks. However, most of the times we end up snacking on unhealthy, comfort foods. It's time to try out the tasty combination of a nutrient-rich and healthy recipe at home with tofu and beetroot kebab. Packed with the wellness of fibre, vitamins and minerals, tofu and beetroot not only makes it a healthy treat but also fills you up satiating your hunger pangs. Beetroot is rich in iron and loaded with folic acid, potassium and calcium as well, which makes it a nutrient-dense vegetable. Tofu is rich in proteins and essential amino acids. Here are a few reasons why tofu is good for your health. And combining these two ingredients together not only makes it a healthy appetiser but a delicious treat as well. Here is the list of ingredients and steps to prepare tofu and beetroot kebab at home.

Ingredients: 2 medium-sized beetroots

1 cup of tofu 3-4 cloves of garlic

1 teaspoon of finely chopped ginger (adrak)

1 teaspoon of garam masala

1/2 teaspoon of chilli powder

2 tablespoon of chopped coriander (dhania)

1/4 teaspoon of turmeric powder (haldi)

1 tablespoon of oil for cooking

Salt to taste

For serving: Tomato ketchup or green chutney.

Methods of preparation:

1. Add finely grated beetroot in a bowl. Now, add fresh, soft tofu to the bowl.

2. Add finely chopped garlic and ginger to the mixture of beetroot and tofu. Also add turmeric powder, garam masala and chilli powder to the mixture.

3. Mix all the ingredients properly. Now, add finely chopped coriander leaves and salt to taste before mixing again. Ensure that the mixture can be rolled out into small balls.

4. Divide the mixture into small balls to make round patties. (You can choose any shape and size). Shallow fry patties on a flat pan over medium heat till it turns golden brown in colour.
