spicy fruit saladGive your regular fruit chaat an Indian twist by making a spicy version of it. This spicy fruit salad by Chef Ranveer Brar has tamarind chutney and other Indian spices that make it flavourful and a must-eat delicacy in the summer. Here's the recipe.

  • Preparation Time: 15 mins
  • Cooking Time: 12 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 red apple
  • 1 pear
  • pineapple
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp oil
  • 1 lemon juice
  • For dressing
  • Roasted peanuts 1 cup
  • cup tamarind paste
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 4 - 5 fresh red chili
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp finely chopped ginger

For garnish

  • 1 cucumber
  • 3 - 4 Ice berg lettuce leaves
  • 1 bulb spring onion
  • lemon juice

Method

  • To prepare dressing in a blender add peanuts, tamarind paste, brown sugar, fresh red chili, salt, oil, water, chopped ginger and blend the mixture.
  • Chop red apple, pear and pineapple into dices.
  • Toss the chopped fruits in the dressing and mix salt in it.
  • Arrange marinated fruits on the skewers.
  • Heat oil on a pan and cook the prepared skewers on it.
  • Drizzle lemon juice over it.
  • For garnish chop the peeled cucumber into slices; chop ice berg lettuce leaves too; chop spring onion too and drizzle lemon juice over it.
  • Arrange the cucumber slices and ice berg lettuce leaves on a plate. Add some prepared dressing and arrange the skewers. Garnish with spring onions and serve.
