Healthy recipe-- Protein rich paneer and corn stuffed cheela

These cheelas will keep you full and keep hunger pangs at bay.

Bored of the usual snacks? Try something new and exotic. Give a healthy twist to your daily snack with this cheela. These delicious pancakes are uniquely Rajasthani. However, go for some improvisation to the traditional recipe by stuffing the cheela with wholesome and flavourful cottage cheese and corn. This stuffing is pretty versatile, and can be used in other preparations such as a topping for sandwiches, rolled up in rotis, or simply taken on its own as a salad! Ingredients

  • 1 cup wheat flour
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 2 tbsp chopped onions
  • 1 cup American corn, boiled
  • 1/4 cup grated cottage cheese
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped tomato
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg powder
  • Black pepper powder as required

For the batter:

  • In a bowl add wheat flour, turmeric, red chilli powder, salt, water and mix it well. Then add oil and let the batter rest.

For the stuffing:

  • Heat oil in a pan then add and mix cumin seeds and chopped onions.
  • Then add salt, boiled corn, grated cottage cheese, finely chopped tomato, nutmeg powder and black pepper powder.

To make the cheela:

  • Pour the batter and spread it evenly on a flat non-stick pan. Then add a little oil and cook it from both the sides.
  • Remove the prepared cheela, slit it from the middle and put the stuffing in it and then roll it into the shape of a cone.
  • Add little oil on the cheela and roast it from both the sides. You will also love these singhara cheela for breakfast.
