Getting up early in the morning and having that glass of detox water or warm water and honey is what most of us do! And after a strenuous workout routine or brisk walking for 30 minutes the first thing in the morning, gulping down that glass of banana smoothie or milkshake can really help you start your day with a bang! And if pressed for time, eating a banana might do the trick. However, adding a few seasonal fruits and yoghurt to your regular banana smoothie not only ups its nutrient value but also increases your iodine intake. So not just iodine-rich salt, you can get your daily dose of iodine with this healthy mixed fruit smoothie too.
Not many people know that yoghurt is a good source of iodine, in addition to calcium and protein. So by adding yoghurt to smoothies you not only make it a healthy drink but also meet your daily requirement of iodine. Moreover, adding seasonal fruits like strawberries, pineapple and oranges along with banana and yoghurt, makes it a tasty treat and packs an energetic punch to start your day on a healthy note. What's more, it also makes you feel full for a long time. Our expert Ms Lalitha Subramanyam, Chief Nutritionist at Grow Fit tells you how to make this quick, tasty and healthy mixed fruit smoothie at home.
