When it comes to healthy snacks, Foxnut, or makhana, is definitely a winner. Low in calories and light on the stomach, Foxnut is easily available. You can either eat it roasted, or make this yummy kheer that will sure be a winner at any dinner party.
Try this quick, healthy recipe that has the goodness of jaggery and assorted dry fruits. Serve this as a party dessert and people will surely come asking for the recipe!
Heat ghee in a pan and roast the foxnuts till crisp and lightly browned.
Crush cup and cut the remaining in half.
Add the milk powder to milk and boil it.
Add foxnuts, stir well and simmer for 15 minutes on medium flame with occasional stirring.
Add cardamom powder.
Let the mixture thicken a little.
Switch off the gas and mix the jaggery.
Heat on low flame for two to three minutes with constant stirring.
Add the cashewnuts, almond, pista and raisins and cover.
Serve chilled.
