Kadi patta to fight diabetesKadi patta or curry leaves have powerful anti-diabetic properties and there are several studies supporting the fact. According to a study published by Xie JT and colleagues, curry leaves may be clinically significant in improving glucose levels in type 2 diabetes. A research carried out by Vinuthan MK and colleagues suggest that kadi patta could be stimulating the synthesis of insulin by beta cells of the pancreas. Another study that was published in the Journal of Plant food for Nutrition showed that kadi patta not only helps lower blood sugar levels immediately but also controls it for a few days after consumption. Moreover, these tiny leaves contain dietary fibre that helps regulation of glucose by slowing down its absorption from the intestine into the blood stream. Apart from the anti-diabetic effect, kadi patta is also found to alter the mechanism by which your body absorbs fat, which helps a person to lose weight.
