Healthy Eid recipe: Oats and carrot kheer

Eid celebrations are certainly incomplete without desserts, but healthy version of kheer could be a good alternative for anyone who is weight conscious or simply interested in eating healthy. It has the goodness and fibre of oats and a mix of dry fruits that will provide energy to your body. Here is the recipe.

  • 4 tbsp oats
  • 7-8 raisins
  • carrot, grated
  • 300 ml slim milk
  • 3-4 almonds, crushed
  • A pinch of cardamom powder
  • Sweetener

Method

1. Soak oats and raisins in half a cup of milk for 10 minutes.

2. Boil the remaining milk with carrots for 5 minutes.

3. Now add the soaked oats and raisins and again boil for 5 minutes.

4. Add the cardamom powder, almonds and sweetener.

5. Serve hot.
