You have usually enjoyed oats in sweet or savoury porridge forms. Since oats is one of the healthiest breakfast ingredients, you might have even tried oats upma, oats uttapam or oats dosa and idli. Have you tried oats with eggs? Seems like an odd combination, is it? Try the recipe to know how delicious it is. Here are 8 more ways to add oats to your daily diet. Here s a healthy breakfast recipe of oats with soft eggs:

Ingredients

  • 200ml milk
  • 200ml water
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 cup oats
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 1 tsp chopped almonds
  • 1 tbsp raisins
  • 1 tbsp black raisins
  • 1 tbsp flax seeds

  1. Boil eggs in water till they are of a soft consistency. You do not need very hard boiled eggs. You may start boiling it right when you start making breakfast.
  2. Meanwhile, in a deep pan, add the milk and water and bring it to a boil.
  3. Add 1 teaspoon sugar and one cup oats to the milk and give it a stir.
  4. While the oats are boiling chop the almonds and raisins into tiny bites. You can roast the flax seeds too. If serving this breakfast to kids, replace flax seeds with tutti frutti. Keep these aside.
  5. Keep stirring the oats so they don t stick to the bottom of the pan. Peel the eggs and chop them in medium sized pieces.
  6. Add the eggs and mix well. You can skip the yolk in case your fitness plan demands it.
  7. Add 1 tsp honey and stir well. Allow it to cook for 2-3 minutes until oats are mushy and cooked.
  8. Add the chopped almonds, raisins and flax seeds and stir again.
  9. Serve hot.
