You might have six pack abs and nice bulging arms but what if your shoulders don t have the cuts to support and make your frame look like that of a body builder. Want that bulk and pumped up shoulders like Arnold Schwarzenegger? This variation of the overhead press is going to get you closer to your goal. If you haven t tried it yet, you are missing out on a very important exercise. It works on your deltoids and upper shoulders. It also targets the triceps brachii, supraspinatus, trapezius and lateral deltoids. The wide range of motions lead to a good amount of stretch for the shoulder muscles, which very few shoulder exercises can help you achieve. All you need is dumbbells and a bench and the right technique to do it.

  • Begin with a warm up for shoulders, wrists, cuff muscles and your entire upper body.
  • Sit on the bench with your back straight. If your bench has a back support, even better.
  • Now pick the dumbbells and hold them such that your palms are facing inward and below the eye level. Flex your elbows.
  • Lift the dumbbells upward. When your hands reach up such that your arms are straight, your palms must be facing outward.
  • Do not lock your hands at this position and slowly lower your arms and come to the starting position.
  • Repeat this for 8-10 times in 3 -5 sets.
