Fresh, seasonal fruits are a must-have in a healthy diet, yet how many of us actually eat fruits regularly? It might not be as appetising as a pizzas or burgers, but it is definitely healthier. According to a study, eating five portions of fruits in your daily diet can cut your risk of cardiovascular diseases, cancer and ill health by five per cent. Find fruits too boring? The best way to eat fruits is to eat them raw, the way nature intended. You can remove the peel or add some condiments like chat masala to enhance the flavour. If you find this boring, cut it in a fancy way to make it look more appealing. You can try carving different fruits and make funny faces or figures before you eat them. Relish a smoothie

Not a fan of raw fruits? Blend them together to make a thick smoothie that will give you an instant dose of energy with the nutrients of several fruits in one glass. You can add your favourite fruits and drink it first thing in the morning or in the evening before your workout. Here are recipes you can try:

  • Apple and pineapple smoothie
  • Jamun smoothie

Enjoy a bowl of fruit salad

Fruit salad is another interesting way to get your daily fruit intake. A bowl full of your favourite fruits makes for a healthy treat. Pick fruits of different colours to get more nutrients. Grab a fruit bar

If you do not have the time to make smoothies or even cut fruits, you can opt for a fruit bar which often has dried fruits and nuts to increase its nutritive value. Add fruits to desserts

And if you really aren t a fan of fruits, this is the easiest way to start liking and eating them add them to desserts! You can do this in several ways such as making fruit desserts or modifying existing recipes to add fruits to them. Here are a few options:

  • Fruit kheer
  • Fruit sandesh
  • Vegan fruit dessert
