Fitness plan day 340 – Burn more calories by exercising in the morning

Just because you are spending time at the gym doesn t mean you are burning a lot of calories. It is quite possible that you have reached a plateau or you are not working out correctly. Morning Don t hit that snooze button. You have to make time for exercise in the morning because morning exercises burn the maximum amount of calories. It boosts your metabolism, keeps you energetic all day. Also Read - This 15-minute Tabata workout is the best way to get your daily dose of cardio

Breakfast Alu paranthas may be too heavy and can interfere with your weight loss plans. But you can certainly have a mix vegetable parantha. Don t apply too much of ghee or oil on it. Accompany it with a bowl of curd with some salt and cumin powder. It s a kid-friendly recipe, so you can even pack it for their lunch.

Lunch You can make your choice of sabzi the healthy way and dal for lunch. Try and include lentils and vegetables or meat at lunch hours. Have it with phulkas or make jau or barley roti today. It s high in fibre and is extremely healthy.

Snacks Almonds are a protein rich snack and are extremely filling. They improve your memory too. Snack on a handful of plain almonds today. They are easy to carry in your bag and can be snacked upon no matter where you are.

Dinner Let barley form a core ingredient of today s fitness plan. Make some barley soup for dinner along with fresh green salad. Try to finish dinner before 8 pm so that you can digest it well and don t feel bloated in the morning

Exercises

At home Use the couch as your exercise buddy today. With just this basic item, you can perform so many different exercises for overall body toning. The best part is, you can keep watching your favourite show or movie while working out.

Yoga Since it s about burning maximum calories today, opt for yoga poses that are high endurance and rigorous. You can start with the Ashtanga and move to the Vinyasa flow after that. These are very different from your regular yoga poses and require good stamina. They improve your flexibility and are excellent for weight loss.

At the gym Build more muscles and practice strength training exercises for burning calories. After your cardio, start with push-ups. You can even try this butt and thigh workout to melt fat from these problem areas.

Sleep well tip If you drink coffee during the day, restrict it to 2 cups. Also, avoid drinking coffee after 4pm as it may interfere with your sleep. Caffeine can affect your quality of sleep so it is best to resist the temptation of that hot cuppa even though the weather calls for it.
