Morning If you are experiencing stiffness in your neck or shoulders when you wake up in the morning, massaging can help. You can release the tension with a nice shoulder massage. You can ask someone to help it with you or do it on your own the moment you wake up.
Breakfast Make some sweet and fibre rich breakfast today. Instead of your regular porridge, try this apple cinnamon oatmeal. This breakfast helps prevent constipation and maintain your blood sugar level. You can even add some nuts or fruits to it.
Lunch Eating a fibre and protein rich meal will keep you full for long hours. This recipe of noodles with stir fried vegetables is an interesting option especially if you are craving something other than regular Indian food.
Snacks Instead of stocking healthy snacks from the store, make it at home and store it in air-tight containers. You can carry them along at work and snack on them in the evening. Try this oats and poha chivda which is another fibre-rich option and easily wards off hunger.
Dinner You don t need carbohydrates to keep you full. In fact, try avoiding carbohydrates at dinner time once or twice a week. It will certainly help you lose weight. A low-carb, nutrient rich meal like stuffed peppers with squash, black beans and rice is a nice one pot warm meal for cold evenings.
At home If you are feeling festive and happy, skip the lunges and squats at home today and play some Bollywood music to shake a leg. Spending half an hour or more on a Bollywood dance workout will not just get you pumped and help burn calories but also get you in a happy mood for further workouts.
Yoga Spend some extra time on yoga today if you are dying to get washboard abs before the New Year s Eve. These 10 yoga poses for a flat tummy are all you need along with your regular exercises to get in shape and be able to flaunt it.
At the gym A lot of gyms offer different workout routines during the week to break the monotony of training with equipment. Try and enroll for a zumba workout during the week and dance your way to fitness. One session of Zumba can help burn up to 800 calories.
Sleep well tip A cup of caffeinated drink takes almost 6 hours to metabolise. So avoid drinking coffee, tea or any caffeinated drinks during the evening. This will help you sleep better during the night. After all, a good night s sleep is a must for a healthy lifestyle.
