Staying hydrated throughout the day is very important. If you are unable to drink 8-10 glasses of water everyday, add foods with high water content to your diet. Drink other fluids like coconut water, buttermilk or vegetable juices.
Morning If you ve been suffering from acidity or bloating recently, then try a mint and coriander smoothie in the morning. You can add flaxseeds or chia seeds to it and even any fruit of your choice. The high fiber content helps regulate bowel movements.
Breakfast Cucumbers have a high water content. They keep you refreshed too. Add them to your breakfast with this cucumber dosa recipe. It s low in calories and also a good source of Vitamin A, B and C.
Lunch Always chop a watermelon and stock it up in your fridge for a day or two so that you can eat it whenever you are hungry or feel dehydrated. You can even put the peels to a good use by making this watermelon peel sabzi for lunch which is completely low calorie and delicious.
Snacks If you have prepared aam panna at home during summers, you can have a glass of it at snack time. Sometimes, plain water is difficult to drink. Add some flavour to it so that you can up your fluid intake of the day.
Dinner For dinner, you can quickly make a cucumber mango salad and some soup of your choice. If you have some leftover roti sabzi from afternoon, make a roll out of it. Your dinner is set and try finishing it at least 2 hours before going to bed.
Exercises
At home Going to the gym will help you try different set of exercises. But in case you are unable to step out, home exercises are good too. You can try different routines every day. All you need to do is to stream the videos on your TV or laptop and follow them. You can try these 10 minute home exercises.
Yoga Leg exercises can be very painful. However, if you couple them with yoga, not only will the poses help you strengthen your legs but also relieve the pain. Utthita Hasta padasana is a great way to work on your tired legs and strengthen them for further exercises.
At the gym Try different set of exercises everyday. You can ask your gym trainer ot help you with a plan depending on the equipment available. You can add stability ball exercises to your routine to shape your abs and avoid any back pain.
Sleep well tip If you are struggling to fall asleep every night, you need to find ways to relax your mind and body. Drinking a glass of nutmeg milk can certainly help induce better sleep. However, avoid adding sugar to it.
