Fitness plan day 263 – Build lean muscle with a proper diet

Exercising is important but if for some reason you are unable to do that for 2-3 days at a stretch, be conscious about what you eat. Taking a break from gym or yoga doesn t mean it s your cheat day. Eat right to keep burning those calories. Here s today s plan to help you with it.

Morning Begin your day with a cup of herbal tea. It s a good way to detox early morning and even though it has no caffeine, it helps soothe your senses and refreshes you.

Breakfast When you are rushing and have no time for preparing an elaborate breakfast, settle for cereal or eggs. A quick egg white masala scramble with multigrain toast sounds just perfect for such a busy day.

Lunch Give the regular toovar dal a miss for today s lunch and try this new recipe of dahiwali toovar dal which is prepared with no oil. It s rich in calcium and protein and can be had with phulkas or plain brown rice.

Snacks Trying a dip in the evening with some crackers or khakhra is a good way to satiate your taste buds and is light and healthy too. You can make some hummus and store it for your evening snacks.

Dinner Combine the not-so-popular ingredients like bajra and pumpkin for dinner to make interesting bajra kaddu roti. It is rich in high in fiber, iron, proteins and calcium and tastes divine with curd.

Exercises

At home Try lunges while walking around at home. It s a nice way to work out and works on your thighs and hips. Here s how you can perform the lunges correctly.

Yoga If you are thinking that yoga is slow and involves just basic stretching, you haven't tried the Vinyasa flow yet. Try this yoga today to work on your core, legs and strengthens other muscle groups of your body. Try doing more sets for better effect. Also, perform it with caution if its your first time.

At the gym Don t ignore that stationery bike lying in your gym. After a session on the treadmill, continue on the stationery bike to burn few more calories. You can also follow this plan after it.

Sleep well tip The light from your electronic gadgets can disrupt your sleep. Here s how smartphones or gadgets disrupt night sleep. Switch off your phone while sleeping and keep your laptop or iPads in a different room if possible.
