We are all addicted to gadgets. The first thing you look at when you wake up is your cell phone and once you touch it, you can t let go of it. Such is the addiction or attachment that most of us carry it to the loo as well. Give this habit a break today.
Morning When you wake up in the morning, the first thing your hands can grab is a copper vessel filled with water. Drink that water that is full of health benefits. If you have a balcony or window, peep outside and watch the birds or the clouds. If you are stuck among skyscrapers, watch the beautiful plants in your home garden.
Breakfast After your daily routine sans the phone, move to make a hearty and beautiful breakfast. A bowl full of chopped fruits, yogurt muesli is what you need this morning.
Lunch Make a colourful sabzi for lunch today. The bell peppers and paneer sabzi is rich in Vitamin A, protein and calcium. The addition of tomatoes supplies the required antioxidants and folic acid to your body. Pack it in your tiffin or have it at home with hot phulkas.
Snacks Forgot to carry a snack to work today or too lazy to make it at home? Don t grab fried food from a street-side stall. Buy a packet of roasted chana or roasted peanuts instead and snack on them. Chana is low in calories and hence perfect for weightloss. The high fibre content will keep you full till dinner time.
Dinner Fish is rich in protein and one of the best and healthiest forms of non-vegetarian food you can add to your diet. If you dislike the smell of salmon or other fish, try this grilled basa with couscous salad. Basa does not have the typical fishy smell or taste and the recipe makes for a fancy meal apt for the weekend.
Exercises
At home If it s raining in your area, you obviously are going to find it difficult to step out of home. So begin exercising at home itself till the rain stops. These home exercises can be performed in small spaces and get you fit just like gym exercises.
Yoga If you are having trouble sleeping in time lately or unable to get some sound sleep, try these yoga poses for peaceful sleep. The poses relax your body and mind and make it easy to sleep well.
Gym A dumbbell bench press is an excellent exercise for the upper body only if it is done right. Remember, you might be increasing weights every few days so lifting them correctly is very important to avoid injuries. Sleep well tip Sleeping in time and properly shouldn t be an issue today since you have practiced yoga for it. Stay away from gadgets even during bedtime because you have obviously checked your Facebook, Twitter and emails during the day. There won t be anything new that you will miss out on.
